ECMK SUCK

ECMK SUCK

Postby chrisspackman on Wed Jul 25, 2007 8:52 pm

Hi ,
I I have just done 4 days with ecmk , £3000 to have someone read a book to me. There has been little contact from assessors , they do not know what training we had from ecmk which i can say was rubbish. We did 2 hours of practical work which was measuring 2 houses but the results were not reviewed by the trainers and we were sent home to do everything ourselves. On attending the course we were told that we should have done 200 hours of study prior to going there , but not everyone had a manual and those that did had out of date copies. ECMK do not reply to our questions about study aides and the trainers said that the exam will be pot luck as they can not teach us everything that will come up in the exam. As part of our fees we were advised that a pda will be supplied as we will need them as part of our assessment but 4 weeks later they have not arrived and we can not get hold of ecmk.
Sorry for war and peace but thought you may wish to know how crap ecmk are.
I WANT MY MONEY BACK!!

I am on the course and i totally agree with you Chris. I have done alot of studying over the last few years at a higher level, and i can say that i am not confident in the assessment at all, as i don't feel i have been taught enough. I am beginning to have second thoughts.....................

As one caught up in the HES ECMK debacle, this is how we currently stand: We paid £2950 inc vat to HES in good faith to get us fully trained, qualified and accredited through them via their training partner ECMK in order to be ready to work on June 1st. Turns out (from what I understand) that ECMK used out of date training info and that our portfolios were therefore not passed. It seems, from what we've been told, that HES took exception to this and witheld ECMK's fees. These two companies appear now to be engaged in a mud slinging exercise.
ECMK turned around, emailed us candidates directly saying that they hadn't been paid by HES and that they would offer to get us qualified quicksmart if we paid them a further £850 plus vat. Needless to say, I don't feel like shelling out another 998 quid to anybody let alone to a company who appear to have c*cked up big time already.
Here we are now, two months after we were supposed to be ready to start work and with August 1st looming and we still have no idea when we will be able to join in the fun.
HES will no doubt contend that ECMK are entirely culpable in this matter.

I do NOT work for ECMK.
I did train with them.
I am accredited with them.

I found their training to be basic, but we were taught all we need to know to pass exams and become DEAs.

If you had gone direct you would have been charged £2100+vat
You chose to go through an agent, this agent made £ 482.50 on each of you.

It was your choice. Blame HES for ripping you off. What have they done for you that was worth £ 482.50 ???

I think you will find that HES will have made considerably more than £482.50 profit per DEA.

When you act as a "distributor" in the IT industry (as is the case with HES here), you pay for your own marketing etc... and you receive a healthy margin, probably in the region of 20-30%.

So HES charge £2950 inc vat, and they then pay ECMK £2100 ex vat less 30%, making net proffit to HES of £1040.64 per course.

For 500 DEAs this makes a tidy half million for HES
